Best pillow for Shoulder Pain

Whatever is the cause of your shoulder pain, it’s important to have a proper orthopaedic fitting pillow.   That is a good pillow for side sleepers, so you can have a comfortable, rejuvenating sleep, waking refreshed in the morning.

Shoulder Problems affect your sleep

Poor posture when sitting at a computer, driving or sleeping can also place a strain on the shoulder, in addition to the neck. Shoulder pain may also be a cause of sleep problems. It is a common cause of disability, medication use and affects daily life activities. This type of pain happens when pain sensitive structure(s) are placed in positions which overload, overstretch or compress the associated muscles, tendons and ligaments.

The Align-Right Pillow can help with the management of shoulder pain. The Align-Right Pillow is a very good pillow for side sleepers. Align-Right has five pillows to fit and support your shoulder. The correct size pillow is measured to your body structure, corresponding to the support needed to take pressure off the shoulder, and keeping the neck in alignment.  The Align-Right Pillows fits your natural neck curve and minimizes pressure on the shoulder, reducing, relieving and relaxing the shoulder.

Shoulder injuries must heal properly. As a result of tearing of the muscles, tendons or ligaments, a shoulder may become unstable and painful. Tears must heal by initially reducing inflammation and resting the damaged tissues. The Align-Right pillow can do a lot of good for the body, mind, and soul.

Judy’s shoulder pain story to healing.

Judy knows this extremely painful and movement limiting pain! She experienced a rotator cuff injury from paddling many wilderness canoeing adventures.   Thankfully she did not require surgery!  It took almost a year for recovery.

The first 3 months, the pain was so debilitating, physiotherapy was out of the question. After she received a cortisone injection, another 6 months of physiotherapy, she found sleeping on her side was a big pain problem as she recovered.   She used the Align-Right small Neck Comfort Roll under her arm, in conjunction with the Align-Right Pillow.   It gaped the joint, relieving pressure.   This small comfort roll is volume adjustable. Taking some filling out she was able to have the soft density needed for her body structure and arm comfort.

Rotator cuff tear A rotator cuff tear is a tear of one or more of the tendons of the four rotator cuff muscles of the shoulder. A rotator cuff ‘injury’ can include any type of irritation or overuse of those muscles or tendons,[1] and is among the most common conditions affecting the shoulder.[2]
